The Infinite cosmos

Where light and silence stretch into infinity

The sky once lifted its veil before me,

revealing a river of stars in the cold December air.

In that vast, shimmering silence I felt myself dissolve—

becoming part of the story written in light.

As I stepped out of my home in a remote village of Uttarakhand, way back in 2004, and looked up at the dark December sky, I saw a miraculous sight. The full expanse of the Milky Way galaxy stared me in the face, unassisted by any telescope. This amazing sight drove me towards studying the stars and galaxies.

Soon after this shared breath-taking experience, my husband and I bought a giant telescope and started gazing at the skies regularly.   I was overwhelmed by the immensity of creation — billions of stars scattered like sparks across an infinite canvas. That awe became the seed of this series.  I felt compelled to translate that vastness of the skies into the mosaic form — to capture not just what I saw, but what I felt: the silence, the humility, the sense of being part of something far greater than myself. These mosaic works are my way of giving shape to that wonder.

The Infinite Cosmos is my artistic journey into the mystery and majesty of our universe. Through this series, I attempt to capture the unfolding story of the universe. For me, this is not just a story of physics and astronomy, but also of the emotions it awakens: awe at its enormity, reverence for its beauty, and joy in discovering our place within it.

MOSAIC 1 of 2

when galaxies embrace

In the meeting of galaxies, silence turns radiant

Galaxies meet, and new worlds rise from their embrace.

This ancient dance has carved the universe we know.

In its unfolding, I find wonder without measure—

a reminder that creation transforms itself forever..
