the pulse of creation
From silence came the spark, and from the spark, all song.

iNSPIRATION
The Pulse of Creation was inspired by the mystery of the creation of our universe — how from a single, infinitesimal point of dense energy, everything that exists came into being. The process of energy’s desire to find physical expression through the creation of Universe, mirrors my desire to give form to my visualized artistry through mosaics. In creating The Pulse of Creation, I have not only translated the vast, scientific unfolding into a language of colour and form — but , in parallel, also given shape to my own awakening — of the moment I first dreamed of creating mosaics.

eXPRESSION
And from that first inner pulse, the work unfolds in colours that echo creation itself.
From a single pulse of creation, matter unfolded into stars, earth, and water — the elements of life. This mosaic traces that epic story through colour, rhythm, and texture. Through fiery reds, grounded ochres, and flowing blues, this mosaic reimagines the universe’s awakening, where from one spark, existence found its rhythm and light.
The Central Spiral represents the single, blinding point of origin — a pulse of unimaginable energy — from which the universe began to breathe. The fiery reds and molten golds of the central spiral evoke the searing birth of matter and the energy of creation’s first breath. Gradations into ochres and browns suggest the cooling of that chaos into rock and earth — the foundations of form. Then, flowing outward, the blues emerge like streams of life, symbolizing water’s arrival and the awakening of the living world. Each tesserae — luminous, rough, or smooth — becomes a fragment of that cosmic memory, a meditation on how from a single spark, existence unfolded into harmony, substance, and light.
The flow of blue tesserae represents the long-awaited arrival of water — the first messenger of life. Its movement through the composition mirrors the patient rhythm of evolution, how conditions aligned over millennia for life to take root. In glass, ceramic and stone, I sought to capture that awe: the idea that all creation, from stardust to breath, flows outward from one luminous beginning.
The red squares of the background act as vital accents — rhythmic, pulsing points of energy surrounding the spiral’s unfolding motion. In the language of colour and form, red carries the essence of life-force, ignition, and vitality — the elemental fire that precedes creation. Positioned around the spiral, they seem to echo the cosmic heartbeat that began when the universe expanded from a point.
Where the spiral expresses flow, evolution, and continuity, the red squares bring structure and pulse — the spark that punctuates infinite motion with moments of intensity. They could be understood as fragments of the first fire, the remnants of the Big Bang’s energy still reverberating through space and time. Their geometry — square, stable, defined — contrasts the spiral’s organic motion, suggesting the emergence of order from energy, form from flux. The interplay between spiral and square becomes a visual metaphor for the cosmos itself—energy unfolding into structure, and structure feeding back into energy.
